Trauma research is an incredible portal into the human experience - how we operate, what we need, how we heal and what it takes to be healthy & inspired - at work, at home and everywhere in between.
We have data right now in a way we haven’t had in the past: brain science, extensive research, patient studies from clinicians and mental heath practitioners, social media platforms that allow people to share their stories - all of this ground-breaking information with the power to transform pain.
My work is an amalgamation of the above resources, shaped into conversational, interactive and people-centered trainings that communicate the data, tell the stories of decades of research and connect with our shared experiences of striving for happier, healthier and more connected lives.

Influences & Acknowledgements
Courtney’s work & knowledge base is heavily informed & influenced by the abolitionist - humanist - equity & trauma-informed work / teachings / mentorship / friendship / accountability of countless leaders in the field, Black women especially.
The benefit of brain science now available regarding trauma cannot be overstated. For centuries Survivors have been reporting what science is just now catching up to & validating.
Trauma-informed therapists, practitioners & advocates are invaluable resources to the growth & healing that comes from being believed and supported.
And an acknowledgement to those who are willing to do this work, which means facing scary corners of your minds, bodies & past, withstanding discomfort, challenging established systems, receiving criticism & correction from those who have been harmed, listening without defensiveness, managing triggers, and finding ways to love yourself through your own pain.
